Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from September 15 to October 15 every year as a time to recognize and celebrate the many contributions, diverse cultures, and extensive histories of the American Latino community. Read the 2022 Presidential Proclamation. celebrations honor the heritage and contributions made by members of the Hispanic community.

Facts about Hispanic Caregivers

  • One-third of Hispanic households report having at least one family caregiver (36%)
  • With an average of 1.83 caregivers per household, there are an estimated 8,147,000 Hispanic caregivers in the U.S.
  • Just under three-quarters (74%) of Hispanic caregivers are female, with an average age of 43, caring for a loved one whose average age is 62.
  • Most of the care recipients are female.
