Reducing the Risk for Falls in Older Adults and Family Caregivers

September 12 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT

Many people think falls are a normal part of aging. The truth is, they are not!
Most falls can be prevented—and you have the power to reduce your risk. We will talk about how your body, brain, and environment can create potential risks and then provide you with some solutions to lower those risks.

Speaker: Kim Mathis is an Evidenced-Based Program Coordinator for the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging. She has over 30 years of professional experience in the field of aging, in addition to over 20 years of personal experience as a caregiver for aging relatives. She is a Master Trainer for Chronic Disease Self-Management, Diabetes Self-Management, and Chronic Pain Self-Management Programs. In addition, she is a Master Trainer for the A Matter of Balance Program and is certified through the Tai Chi for Health Institute as a Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention instructor.

This is a free, online event presented via Zoom and conference call. RSVP here: https://bit.ly/3cFDgVv
